A total of 23,330,326 meals were packed and distributed in South Africa as part of this initiative. Thousands of companies and individuals participated in this well organised and fun event.
“It is great to be part of something that will make a positive impact in the lives of many, to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela” - said Alex Brits, Marketing Manager at Intouch Relocations.
Mandela Day is celebrated annually in South Africa and around the world, on or around Nelson Mandela’s birthday the 18th of July. The Mandela Day message is a global call to action that asks people to dedicate 67 minutes of their time to serve a cause that espouses the ideals for which Nelson Mandela fought for 67 years - to alleviate poverty and promote peace, reconciliation and cultural diversity.
